HOTEL DEL CORONADO ANNOUNCES ANNUAL HALLO-WINE & SPIRITS® PARTY
Saturday, October 26
Coronado, CA —Hotel del Coronado is world-renowned for its 125-year history of hosting celebrities, presidents and dignitaries from around the world. The legendary resort is almost equally famous for its ghostly visitors, which have reportedly been around for almost as long as the hotel itself. Though supernatural stories abound, most have to do with Kate Morgan, a beautiful young woman who checked into the hotel in 1892 – and never checked out. After spending five lonely and lovesick days waiting for a man who never arrived, Kate was found dead on an exterior staircase leading to the beach. Kate had a gunshot wound to her head, which the San Diego County Coroner later determined was self-inflicted (some skepticism still surrounds this finding). Since then, the hotel has continuously received accounts of strange occurrences: lights and fans that go on and off by themselves, slamming doors, books that fly off shelves, bed covers that are suddenly pulled back by no one, excessive noise coming from the room above (reported by guests on the top floor) and even several sightings of a ghostly figure adorned in Victorian attire.
Celebrate the spookiest holiday of the year at San Diego’s most infamously haunted locale. Don your favorite costume and join us for the annual, adults-only Hallo-wine and Spirits® Party. After all, we’ve already got the spirits, all we have to add is the wine!
The fun starts with a reception from 7pm to 9pm in the ghoulishly decorated Garden Patio. The festivities include adult trick-or-treating, a giant pumpkin carving demonstration and dinner at a variety of food stations along with wine and plenty of spirits. At 9pm, guests progress to the haunted Crown Room for desserts at the ultimate Halloween party, with a fabulous costume contest plus dancing to your frightful favorites played by our dreadfully delightful DJ. And, keep an eye out for a special guest appearance from Kate Morgan.
Hotel del Coronado’s Hallo-wine and Spirits Party is from 7pm to 12am and costs $100 per person (includes tax and gratuity) if you book your reservation by October 1. After October 1, the cost is $125 per person (includes tax and gratuity). Must be 21 years or older to attend. A special Halloween-themed Kidtopia will be available for kids ages 4 to 12 at a cost of $50 per child. Advance reservations are required by calling dining reservations for Hallo-wine tickets at 619-522-8490 or visit www.hoteldel.com/holidays.
