HOTEL DEL CORONADO PRESENTS AWARD-WINNING SPA
Coronado, CA — In January 2007, the legendary Hotel del Coronado, located on 28 oceanfront acres, unveiled a spectacular new Spa. In creating this world-class facility, designers drew upon the resort’s early roots. When it opened in 1888, The Del was considered a premier vacation and health destination, where the sea-swept air was both preservative and restorative. The Spa at the Del was recently given top honors in Travel + Leisure’s 13th annual World’s Best Awards Readers Survey. Nancy Novogrod, editor-in-chief, announced the winners in the August 2008 issue. A questionnaire was developed by the editors of Travel + Leisure and was made available to subscribers during the first quarter of 2008. Respondents were asked to rate hotels, cities, islands, spas, hotel spas, outfitters/safari operators, cruise lines, airlines and car rental companies on several characteristics. The best hotel spas were rated on ambiance, treatments, service and value.
A state-of-the-art fitness center adjacent to the Spa opened in spring 2007, offering personal training, weight and cardiovascular equipment and a studio for aerobics, spin classes and Pilates. Yoga and mediation on the beach is also available.
