Hallo-wine & Spirits® Party

Celebrate Halloween at San Diego’s famous haunted hotel on Friday, October 30. Don your best costume and join us for the 6th annual, adults-only, “Hallo-wine and Spirits” Party full of spooky surroundings, great eats, delicious wines and dancing until you drop! This year’s theme is “Witches and Warlocks”.

Event Details

The Del’s Hallo-wine and Spirits dinner reception is from 7-9pm with grown-up trick-or-treating, wine tasting, and delicious eats from The Del’s amazing culinary team.

Then at 9pm, the party heads into the Crown Room for dessert, drinks, dancing and crowning the winner of this year’s best costume. And keep an eye out for a special guest appearance from our resident ghost, Kate Morgan.

Hotel del Coronado’s “Hallo-wine and Spirits” dinner reception is from 7-9pm and the dance party is from 9pm-12am. Must be 21 years or older to attend. Call 619-522-8490 for more information. Tickets are $150 per person. Party guests get up to 20% off their room rate with promo code: WITCH.

Kids Party
Kids ages 4-12 can attend their own Halloween party with costumes, trick-or-treating, dinner and more for $50 per child. (Available to hotel guests and Hallo-wine party guests.)

Ghost Roast

From October 26 – November 1, our private beach bonfire turns spooky with ‘Ghost Roast’, a Halloween-themed twist on our Roast s’mores experience. This upgraded beach s’mores experience includes pumpkin Peeps, a bottle of Sparkling Apple Cider, and a visit from Kate Morgan herself, telling her tragic story from The Del’s book, “Beautiful Stranger.” In addition, ‘Feelin’ Artsy’ and ‘I Want it All’ experiences will include Reese’s Pumpkins, Halloween marshmallows, candy corn and more. You won’t want to miss this!

Ghost Roast is a one-hour experience available at 6pm, 6:15pm, 8pm and 8:15pm. Thanksgiving Dinner at The Del

Give thanks and celebrate with family and friends at The Del’s exquisite Thanksgiving dinner in the oceanfront Ballroom and magnificent Crown Room on November 26. The elegant buffet will be a lavish feast with all of the trimmings and live musical entertainment. The resort’s holiday programs will also kick off on Thanksgiving weekend.

Cost is $105 for adults and $40 for children in the Ballroom, and $120 for adults and $45 for children in the Crown Room (plus tax and gratuity)*. Children ages 5 and under are free with a paying adult. Please call 619-522-8490 for Thanksgiving reservations or click “Book Now” below.

1500 OCEAN and Sheerwater restaurants will offer seasonal menus to pair with The Del’s spectacular views.

Ice Rink at Sunset

Skating by the Sea on Coronado

Skating by the Sea returns to Hotel del Coronado for the 11th year from Thanksgiving day, November 26, through January 3. This spectacular ice rink is located seaside on Windsor Lawn and features stunning views of the Pacific and Coronado beach.

The Del’s iconic Victorian Building, adorned with thousands of white lights, provides a magical backdrop as holiday music fills the air and guests enjoy hot chocolate and libations.

Reserve your stay with our “Skate & S’mores” package that includes ice skating and a private s’mores roast for two.

Skating by the Sea Hours

Skating is $25 per person and ice skate rentals are free. Skate times may be limited to 90 minutes based on capacity. Tickets will be sold online (coming soon) and via phone at 619-522-8490, and at the rink starting 15 minutes prior to opening. There are group discounts, professional skating instruction, and season passes available. All skaters must sign a waiver prior to entering the rink (click to print and sign in advance). Group skating inquiries and special requests should be directed to the rink manager at hoteldel@icerinkevents.com. A portion of the skating proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of San Diego.

Experience Holidays at The Del

Hotel del Coronado has been celebrating the holidays in grand tradition since 1888. It was here in 1904 that America experienced the first electrically-lit outdoor Christmas tree. Today, The Del transforms into a holiday wonderland with beachfront ice skating, the new DELights experience in the Garden Patio, lavish feasts, festive decor, and thousands of white lights adorning the historic Victorian building.

The resort’s beautiful lobby Christmas tree will be decorated to match this year’s theme, “Making Seasides Bright”. (Activities below are subject to change.)

Skating by the Sea: November 26 – January 3

Hotel del Coronado is celebrating the eleventh anniversary of Skating by the Sea, a unique Southern California experience – outdoor ice skating overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The oceanfront Windsor Lawn will be transformed into a spectacular ice rink with skating sessions offered daily from November 26 to January 3. DELights: November 26 – January 3

This year, The Del will be adding even more holiday magic with DELights, a glittering light show and holiday experience in the Garden Patio at the center of our iconic resort. Enter a winter wonderland of holiday sights, smells and sounds with a shimmering array of icy colors, dazzling snowflakes, whimsical polar bears and a stunning video mapping light show projected onto a 30’ multi-faceted tree. Holiday favorites like house-made gingerbread and cookies, mulled cider and hot cocoa will be available for purchase, along with gifts like The Del’s annual ornament for everyone on your list. This exciting new tradition is open daily, 4pm to 9pm, from November 26 through January 3 (opens at 7:30pm on December 12; closed New Year’s Eve) and is complimentary to our overnight guests. The light show will take place every hour from 5pm to 9pm. Admission for day visitors will be $25 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of San Diego.

Holiday Festival: December 2

On Wednesday, December 2, from 4pm to 7pm, The Del will host a special event for the entire family, “Holiday Festival…A Family Celebration.” In addition to the outdoor ice rink, there will be hot cocoa and libations, a fireworks display on Del Beach, performances by Coronado school children, photo opportunities with Santa and his elves, and holiday booths with games and prizes.

Victorian Tea: December 11-12, 19-24

Take a step back in time with classic Victorian tea for the holidays. Enjoy a variety of teas, finger sandwiches and sweets with a background of beautiful music. Victorian tea is available from 11am-3pm, December 11-12 and 19-24. Ladies and gentlemen, mothers and daughters and good friends will love this charming tradition. View last year’s Victorian Tea menu. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions and we are happy to accommodate, such as gluten-free, nut-free, seafood-free, or vegetarian/vegan. We also have a special kids’ plate so little ones can join the grown-ups for afternoon tea.

Holiday Recreation

During the holiday season at The Del, guests of all ages enjoy a variety of activities including holiday night bike tours through festive Coronado Island, story time with Mrs. Claus and Kidtopia Camp with holiday scavenger hunts. Little ones will love the “Elf Tuck-Ins” where they are visited by real elves at bedtime. And in the days leading up to Christmas, snuggle in Santa hats by a beach bonfire and roast “Jingle Roast”, which includes your private beach bonfire and s’mores made from cinnamon graham crackers, Ghirardelli mint chocolate, and marshmallows. Happy New Year

Ring in 2016 at The Del’s New Year’s Eve Gala! The evening will begin with a champagne reception, followed by a lavish dinner and dancing in the oceanfront Ballroom, plus a champagne toast at midnight. For a more intimate celebration, 1500 OCEAN is the perfect energetic nightspot to welcome the New Year.

Keep the party going on January 1 with the annual New Year’s Day champagne brunch in the historic Crown Room.
