Del Beach Services

Relax in a cabanettes with plush day beds, luxury loungers and oversized red umbrellas with white fringe. This is the only San Diego spot where guests can order up tropical cocktails and local craft brews, along with delicious beach fare, with their toes in the sand. California Clambake

Settle into the sand on a warm summer evening for a classic California Clambake at Coronado Beach. Guests will enjoy a shellfish feast at sunset paired with a local beer or signature cocktail (cash bar also available) and live entertainment. The clambakes will be at 6:30pm on June 24, July 22 and August 12. Reserve online.

Painting by the Sea

Inspire your inner artist and experience Painting by the Sea. This unique coastal painting experience features you with an easel and a palette of paint colors positioned in front of the ocean on the Paseo Lawn. Dates available throughout 2016. Reserve online.


Reserve your private beach fire pit and choose from a variety of cozy experiences a la carte, such as s’mores, cheese and charcuterie, and fireside franks. One pit accommodates up to 10 guests. This seaside playground has all the ingredients for an action-packed vacation. Biking, boogie boarding, beach spin, sailing, surfing, spin, stand-up paddleboarding and more. More aquatic fun awaits at Seaforth Boat Rentals in Glorietta Marina, just across the street from Hotel del Coronado. Take a sailing lesson, rent a speedboat, jet ski, waterski, kayak, paddleboat or go fishing. Or glide through the calm waters of Glorietta Bay on a captained private yacht. Poolside Cabanas

Relax poolside in a luxury cabana available at the Main Pool and Boardwalk (Adult) Pool. Cabanas are available for full-day rental for up to 8 people (for a larger group, get a second connecting cabana!). They come with L-shaped sofa lounge, coffee table, large TV, safe, refrigerator stocked with water and soft drinks, two reserved poolside lounge chairs, an amenity basket, and sliced fresh fruit delivered midday. Kids DelVentures

Explore the resort! Every child receives a DelVenture Survival Pack at check-in with a number of goodies inside, including a Scavenger Hunt Map. The scavenger hunt takes them to six hidden golden crowns on the property, which will reveal a secret clue that guides them to the treasure!

Beach Fitness

Join us for Beach Spin at The Del – a unique fitness experience overlooking the Pacific on the resort’s Paseo Lawn. The 50-minute classes are led by some of San Diego’s best instructors through Beats by Dre headphones along with motivating tunes. Advanced reservations required. Learn more.

Get Mermaid Fit

Join us Fridays at 8am in the Beach Village pool for Mermaid Fitness at The Del, an exciting water aerobics class with colorful mermaid tails! Hotel del Coronado fitness instructors will guide you through this 45-minute fusion of swimming, core, cardio and strength training set to upbeat music. Learn more.

Coronado Concerts in the Park

Del Beach Bash & July 4th

Celebrate Independence Week in Coronado! Come to The Del early on June 30 for a beach party with a live band and fireworks for overnight guests. And then on July 4th, Coronado Island celebrates with an annual parade, community activities, and a spectacular fireworks finale.

June 30 Del Beach Bash

Celebrate early on June 30 with our Del Beach Bash, an annual tradition for Hotel del Coronado and Beach Village guests alike. We transform the beach into a party to remember with live music by Ron’s Garage Band, bars, fire pits, s’mores (8-9pm), kids’ crafts and a spectacular fireworks display at 8:45pm. Complimentary for overnight guests (no reservations required); day visitors are also welcome for $25 per person (book below). Event is from 7-10pm.

July 4th in Coronado

Independence Day in Coronado is as iconic as the island and The Del itself. Coronado Island celebrates July 4th with an annual parade, a fun run/walk, rough water swim, art-in-the-park and a concert at Spreckels Park. Seafood Dish with Clams, Prawns, Potato, Corn and Carrots

California Clambake: July 22, August 12

Settle into the sand on a warm summer evening for a classic California Clambake at Coronado Beach. Guests will cozy up on communal tables and enjoy a shellfish feast at sunset featuring Executive Chef John Shelton’s fresh local favorites steamed, boiled or grilled. This seafood spread will be paired with a signature cocktail from Zaya Rum or a local beer (cash bar also available) and live entertainment. This beachfront experience will also include fun beach games like beach bocce ball and others. The clambakes will be on Coronado Beach from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on July 22 and August 12. Guests are encouraged to wear white.

Mixology Class: August 25

Join Nolet Gin mixologist Jaren Singh for a cocktail-making class using fresh ingredients from The Del’s garden at our Sunset bar on Thursday, August 25 from 2:30pm to 4pm. Tour the garden with our chef and harvest fresh herbs and other ingredients before joining Singh for a fun and interactive drink mixing experience. As you learn behind-the-bar secrets, sip on your creations and nibble on bites from our chef. Class includes a Hotel del Coronado apron, recipes and validated self parking as well.

Registration is $75 per person and you must be 21 or over to attend. Polo on the Beach at Hotel del Coronado

Beach Polo Cup: September 3-4

Polo America has partnered with the iconic Hotel del Coronado to host the first West Coast Beach Polo event, September 3-4. Guests will be pampered with a weekend full of polo, fashion, gourmet food and drinks. Proceeds benefit Rady Children’s Hospital. Polo America will invite four high-profile patrons to bring a high-goal team to compete in an event that will draw celebrities on and off the field.


This event returns the sport of polo to Hotel del Coronado, which was first brought to The Del in 1906 by owner John D. Spreckels with matches between international teams and a local team comprised mostly of Navy officers until World War I.

Presented By: Ermenegildo Zegna, Silver Seas Yachts, Grayse, Porsche of San Diego and Coronado Tourism Improvement District.

  • The VIP tent will measure 50 foot x 300 foot and feature three terraces. The first terrace (12 foot x 300 foot) will consist of 16 corporate entertainment lounges adorned with white leather couches and chairs.

Hotel del Coronado's annual Halloween party, Hallowine and Spirits

Hallo-wine & Spirits® Party: October 29

Celebrate Halloween at San Diego’s famous haunted hotel on Saturday, October 29. Wear your best costume and join us for the 7th annual, adults-only, “Hallo-wine and Spirits” Party full of spooky surroundings, great eats, drinks and dancing until you drop! This year’s theme is “Vixens & Villains”. Party-goers are encourage to use hashtag #DelHallowine at the event.

Event Details

The Del’s Hallo-wine and Spirits dinner reception is from 7-9pm with delicious eats from The Del’s amazing culinary team and cash bars.

Then at 9pm, the party heads into the Crown Room for dessert, drinks, dancing and crowning the winner of this year’s best costume. And keep an eye out for a special guest appearance from our resident ghost, Kate Morgan.

Hotel del Coronado’s “Hallo-wine and Spirits” dinner reception is from 7-9pm and the dance party is from 9pm-12am. Must be 21 years or older to attend. Tickets are $125 per person before September 30, $150 thereafter. VIP Lounge areas are also available for $1500 and include 6 tickets, reserved lounge seating for 6 people and bottle service (first bottle is included). Tickets will go on sale in August.

Kids Party
Kids ages 4-12 can attend their own Halloween party with costumes, trick-or-treating, dinner and more for $50 per child. (Available to hotel guests and Hallo-wine party guests.)
