July 24-26

Jeremy Hotz
Smart and funny is what has made Canadian comic Jeremy Hotz a success. Hotz is a favorite in stand up comedy clubs across Canada and the United States, including the Laugh Factory and the Improv in both Las Vegas and Los Angeles. He headlined the Roy Thomson Hall with Jon Stewart and Mike Bullard for CTV’s fifth anniversary celebration, CBC for its 50th anniversary special, and its half-hour sitcom Made in Canada. He also appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, followed by an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Hotz is also a talented actor who has appeared in the feature films My Favorite Martian with Elizabeth Hurley and Speed 2: Cruise Control with Sandra Bullock and Jason Patrick. He was the recipient of a Gemini Award for Best Performance in a Comedy Show or Series for his work in the celebrated series The Newsroom on the CBC and PBS in America. In addition to his stand up career, Hotz was a staff writer on the critically acclaimed The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central.

James P. Connolly
Hailing from Northern and Southern California (depending on whom he is trying to impress), James P. Connolly is a stand-up comedian and radio/TV host known for his playful, confident style and unique sense of humor. In addition to having appeared on Comedy Central and HBO, James hosted VH1’s Movie Obsessions and more recently Live From Here on Sirius XM Radio for National Lampoon. He is recognized across the country as one of the most-played comedians on the Sirius XM comedy channels and is a frequent guest on the nationally syndicated The Bob & Tom Show.

July 31 – August 2

Bobby Collins
Bobby Collins is always the funniest guy in the room. With more than 200 stand-up performances around the country each year, he is a show-business institution who has made millions laugh. A native of New York, he was literally born into comedy when his father named him for his favorite comedian, Bob Hope. In the 1980s, Bobby left a lucrative position as vice president of Calvin Klein to pursue his dream and ended up working alongside such comedy legends as Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno. While other comics have left stand-up behind, Bobby has kept going, preferring the intimacy and energy he finds in live clubs, theaters and casinos. Over the years, he has hosted VH-1′s “Stand Up Spotlight”; toured with Cher, Julio Iglesias, Dolly Parton and Tony Bennett, among others; and released six comedy CDs, “On the Inside,” “Out of Bounds,” “You’re Not Coming With Us,” “Mr. New York,” “I Wanna Go Home” and most recently “I’m on the Boat.”

Jimmie J.J. Walker
The term “maximizing one’s potential” could have been coined to describe the life of Jimmie Walker, who strode out of the New York ghetto, first to educate himself and then to become one of the best-known television personalities in the United States. Jimmie accepted a part in the CBS comedy series “Good Times” as J.J. Evans. We can all remember his “Dyn-O-Mite” role that made him a household name. He has been a regular on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “Politically Incorrect” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Most recently Jimmie has appeared on Chelsea Lately, Everybody Hates Chris and George Lopez. In 2012, Jimmie Walker published his memoir, the critically acclaimed, “Good Times, Bad Times, Our Times, DYN-O-MITE!”. Published by “The Perseus Books Group.”

August 7-9

Ron Pearson
Comedian Ron Pearson had a World Record for juggling at the age of 15. Not bad for a childhood street performer who took his talents all the way to Hollywood! As the baby of eight children, comedy seemed to be the only way to get attention and attention he got! The Hollywood Reporter called him, “a comic ball of fire.” The Los Angeles Times wrote, “I laughed so hard my jaws ached.” Not only does Ron juggle in his act, he also juggles his Hollywood career. As a stand up comedian, Ron has made hundreds of TV appearances doing stand up on shows like The Late Late Show, Chelsea Lately, The Dennis Miller Show and Comedy Central. As an actor, Ron has also done numerous roles over the years. You might recognize him from his recurring roles on shows like That 70s Show, The George Lopez Show, The Drew Carey Show, Boston Legal, Two Guys and a Girl, Norm, the feature film Little Black Book or the Disney Channel film Starstruck. He also starred for two years on the series Malcolm and Eddie.

Gerry Bednob
A self-described class clown in school, Gerry Bednob worked as a high school counselor until he decided to try out open mic night at Yuk Yuk’s comedy club in Canada. His initial fear of bombing on stage resulted in huge laughs from the crowd and got him an invite from the owner of the club to come back. He became relatively well-known on the comedy club circuit performing throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. He made appearances on The Wonder Years and Encino Man before winning the 1993 Star Search International Stand Up Competition. It was as a comic where he met writer/director Judd Apatow and was cast as Mr. Burundi on the Fox television show, Undeclared. This relationship led to Bednob’s breakthrough role in the smash hit, The 40 Year Old Virgin. He would follow up on the success of this with numerous roles in film and television including Witless Protection and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.

Beginning in 1904 L. Frank Baum, the creator of Oz, and his wife Maud came to Coronado, California, for half of each year to escape the harsh winters of the Midwest.
