ENO-VERSITY CLASSES NOW IN SESSION
ENO is thrilled to offer “ENO-Versity” classes, where renowned winemakers, cheesemakers and chocolatiers will join Wine Director and Sommelier Ted Glennon in leading ENO-Versity classes through an exploration of the histories, types and flavors of exquisite wines by suggesting cheese and chocolate pairings, each individually chosen to perfectly complement the selection of wines. As an added treat, some ENO-Versity classes will be followed by an intimate connoisseur dinner with the special guest winemaker at 1500 OCEAN. Chef de Cuisine Brian Sinnott creates a fabulous four-course dinner that perfectly complements the class’ featured wines.

  • March 13 – Class: Core Wine Co. Santa Maria Valley, Santa Barbara
Cult wines are for snobs. These wines are for people who want their wine to taste good and care about how the grapes were grown. David Corey specializes in small batch vineyard driven wines. This event promises to be a very nerdy affair.
  • April 10 – Class & 1500 OCEAN Connoisseur Dinner: Skylark Wine Co., Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino
Rob Perkins and John Lancaster have directed the beverage program at Boulevard Restaurant in San Francisco for the last ten years. In 2004, the duo launched Skylark Wine Co. and began producing Syrah, Pinot Blanc and Cabernet from small vineyards in Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino Counties. These wines are geeky and sexy, alternating from elegant and austere to hedonistic and bold. Rob Perkins was born and raised here in Coronado; consider this a fun homecoming.
  • April 24 – Class: Master Sommelier Larry O’Brien, South Africa
South Africa is among the most anticipated new waves of wine regions to emerge in recent years. Join ENO and meet one of America’s Master Sommeliers for a very delicious, very informative, very funny cheese and wine adventure and get a first-class look at the emerging South African Wine Country.
  • May 15 – 1500 OCEAN Connoisseur Dinner: Forteleza Tequila
One of the most respected small family distillers to produce tequila will be on hand for a very special dinner in 1500 OCEAN. Three courses will be paired with cocktails designed to bring Chef Brian Sinnott’s stellar cuisine and the Fortaleza tequilas together. We will also speak at length about the history and modern traditions associated with tequila and how it is made. Join Ted Glennon and the owner of Forteleza Tequila for an unforgettable celebration of this very unique spirit.
  • June 12 – Class & 1500 OCEAN Connoisseur Dinner: Father’s Day Celebration
For Father’s Day, ENO and 1500 OCEAN will be hosting a class and dinner based around Dad’s two favorite things: whiskey and beer. Special guests from the world-renowned San Diego craft beer community will be on hand to discuss their beers.
  • July 24 – Class & 1500 OCEAN Connoisseur Dinner: Ap Vin, Single Vineyard Pinot Noirs, San Francisco
Andrew Vignello crafts single vineyard Pinot Noir from over 12 of California’s most revered vineyards from Santa Barbara to Mendocino. To open and enjoy side by side is to truly see the dramatic difference between the vineyards’ contributions. This ENO class will be followed by a four-course dinner at 1500 OCEAN. The class will focus on Andrew’s wines from vineyards south of Monterey, while the dinner will spotlight the northern half of the state.

ENO-Versity classes are held in the ENO wine tasting room from 4pm to 5:30pm and are $35 per person. Special connoisseur dinners at 1500 OCEAN are immediately following the class; prices vary. For reservations and information, please call 619-522-8546.
Space is limited. Guest speakers are subject to change without notice. 3-hour parking is validated with purchase.
