Chef Throwdown: June 9

Join us for an unforgettable gourmet gathering on The Del’s Windsor Lawn at 6pm, June 9, benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Thirty of San Diego and Baja’s best chefs will present signature hors d’oeuvres and desserts at individual stations, competing for the best dish, while local San Diego breweries and wineries from Valle de Guadalupe by Baja Wine+Food pair their favorite libations with each offering. Live entertainment, and live and silent auctions will round out the evening. All proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and its ongoing mission to cure cystic fibrosis and provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives.

The chefs will be judged the ever-growing and esteemed Culinary Council that includes Brian Malarkey, Claudia Sandoval, Troy Johnson, Serge Dedina, Sam Zien, Jack Ford, Michele Parente, Tommy Gomes, Andre Zotoff, Javier Plascencia and Lead Judge Richard Sandoval. Chefs will also present their best bites with the goal of winning the Chef Flor Franco Award for Culinary Excellence, in addition to some incredible prizes.

Individual Tickets – $150
Includes entry into the event, food prepared by 30 of San Diego and Baja’s best chefs, beer, wine and spirit pairings, and complimentary self-parking. Discounted valet parking is available for $20. (Parking at The Del is limited. Ride sharing or street parking is encouraged.)

VIP Tickets – $250
Includes early entry to the event at 5pm, meet-and-greet with the Culinary Council, food prepared by 30 of San Diego and Baja’s best chefs, beer, wine and spirit pairings, complimentary valet parking, reserved VIP tables, concierge service and front-of-line access throughout the night.

Beach Concert with Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band: June 19

Hotel del Coronado presents a relaxing Father’s Day BBQ and concert on The Del’s scenic North Beach June 19 in support of the Gary Sinise Foundation. Paratroopers will grace the sky and wave our nations flag over the beach to kick off a rock-n-roll concert performed by Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band. There’s something for everyone as the twelve-member group covers hits from Stevie Wonder to Kelly Clarkson, Adele to the Zac Brown Band and everything in between.

Event Details – Sunday, June 19

Enjoy a delicious BBQ and sip cold drinks on the beach while you enjoy the concert. Food, beer, wine, cocktails and soft drinks will be available for purchase and sand chairs will be available to rent ($20 each) or you can bring your own blanket and chairs.

Noon to 7pm – Food and beverage service available
5-7pm – Amazing skydiving show followed by a live concert with the Lt. Dan Band

Tickets are $75 for all ages, and $35 for active and retired military, veterans and military spouses (please call 619-522-8490 to reserve the military tickets). Prices are inclusive of tax and gratuity, but do not include parking. No outside food or beverage will be allowed into the event. There will be a wheelchair-accessible wooden pathway from the beachfront walkway to the stage. For additional questions, please contact us at 619-522-8490.

VIP tickets are available for $500 per person and include a special meet-and-greet with Gary Sinise and the band before the show, front row viewing and seating, validated parking, and food and beverage included. Father’s Day Brunch: June 19

They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Celebrate Dad at our lavish Sunday brunch in the Crown Room on Sunday, June 19 from 9:30am-1:30 pm. Seafood Dish with Clams, Prawns, Potato, Corn and Carrots

California Clambake: June 24, July 22, August 12

Settle into the sand on a warm summer evening for a classic California Clambake at Coronado Beach. Guests will cozy up on communal tables and enjoy a shellfish feast at sunset featuring Executive Chef John Shelton’s fresh local favorites steamed, boiled or grilled. This seafood spread will be paired with a signature cocktail from Zaya Rum or a local beer (cash bar also available) and live steel drums. This beachfront experience will also include fun beach games like beach bocce ball and others. The clambakes will be on Coronado Beach at 6:30pm on June 24, July 22 and August 12. Guests are encouraged to wear white.

Del Beach Bash & July 4th

Mixology Class: August 25

Join Nolet Gin mixologist Jaren Singh for a cocktail-making class using fresh ingredients from The Del’s garden at our Sunset bar on Thursday, August 25 from 2:30pm to 4pm. Tour the garden with our chef and harvest fresh herbs and other ingredients before joining Singh for a fun and interactive drink mixing experience. As you learn behind-the-bar secrets, sip on your creations and nibble on bites from our chef. Class includes a Hotel del Coronado apron, recipes and validated self parking as well.

Registration is $75 per person and you must be 21 or over to attend. Historic Polo Team in Coronado 1910

Beach Polo Cup: September 2-4

Polo America has partnered with the iconic Hotel del Coronado to host the first West Coast Beach Polo event, September 2-4. Guests will be pampered with a weekend full of polo, fashion, gourmet food and drinks. Proceeds benefit Rady Children’s Hospital. Polo America will invite four high-profile patrons to bring a high-goal team to compete in an event that will draw celebrities on and off the field.

PURCHASE TICKETS

This event returns the sport of polo to Hotel del Coronado, which was first brought to The Del in 1906 by owner John D. Spreckels with matches between international teams and a local team comprised mostly of Navy officers until World War I.

VIP Treatment

  • The VIP tent will measure 50 foot x 300 foot and feature three terraces. The first terrace (12 foot x 300 foot) will consist of 16 corporate entertainment lounges adorned with white leather couches and chairs.
  • The second terrace (20 foot x 300 foot) will include elegant 72-inch round tables for the formal luncheon each day.
  • The third terrace (16 foot x 300 foot) will be available for corporate displays.
