Coronado Island Film Festival
Coronado's Second Annual Film Festival
November 8 - November 11
You are cordially invited to be a part of the Coronado Island Film Festival! Join the community of Coronado, Leonard Maltin, and the makers and lovers of film from around the world – for a fun-filled holiday weekend. Celebrate Coronado’s enduring love affair with Hollywood which first began when stars like Errol Flynn, Mary Pickford and Charlie Chaplin were drawn to the iconic Hotel del Coronado. Since those early days of film, Coronado’s world-class beaches, perfect weather, and proximity to Hollywood have made it a favorite go-to spot for screen legends. That romance continues uninterrupted to this day.
The island provides a magical setting for four jam-packed days of parties, movie screenings, panels, exhibits, workshops, live performances and more… The highlight of the event being a wide variety of films by filmmakers from every level of the craft, from emerging student to seasoned pro. As with last year, our closing night will be an outdoor screening of “Some Like It Hot,” starring Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis, where you will bundle up by a beach bonfire, dig your toes into the sand, and watch this timeless comedy from the very spot where it was filmed 59 years ago – on the “Del Beach.”
