Ice House Museum & Tours

Explore the 1889 Ice House Museum and discover the behind-the-scenes history of The Del, along with its world-famous dining, recreation and legendary guests. Featuring artifacts, memorabilia, and a Marilyn Monroe selfie spot, the Museum is also where all of our history tours begin. The Museum is located next to the Power Plant on Wagers Row, the row of historic buildings along the main drive. Admission is complimentary.

Haunted Happenings Tour

Learn the official account of Kate Morgan’s 1892 visit to The Del and why her spirit never left in this guided ghostly tour of the resort. Walk in Kate’s footsteps as you uncover the mystery of her death, other spirits who haunt the hotel and ghostly guest encounters.

Room 502 Tour

While the haunting story of Kate Morgan is more widely known, her guestroom isn’t the only room where haunted phenomena has been reported. Up on the fifth floor, which originally housed hotel staff, another guestroom has received even more documented reports of haunted happenings. On this special ghostly tour, you’ll learn the official account of Kate Morgan’s 1892 visit to The Del, the 1992 paranormal investigation and go inside the hotel’s most haunted room.

Paranormal Tour

In 1992, Parapsychologist/Anomalist Christopher Chacon conducted a confidential assessment of the phenomena reported throughout the resort. This 24-hour-a-day, 12-month investigation yielded nearly 10,000 hours of content and one room, Room 3519, documented over 400 anomalous (paranormal) phenomena alone. For the first time ever view some of the recorded footage first hand, in the room where it happened and learn about the paranormal equipment used today.

Beautiful Stranger Anniversary Tour

On November 24, 1892, a 24-year old woman checked into Hotel del Coronado under an alias and five days later, her body was found on a hotel exterior staircase. Join us on the 130th anniversary of her arrival with a special ghost tour at 6 pm and 7:30pm on November 24. Learn the official account of Kate Morgan’s Thanksgiving Day 1892 visit to The Del and why her spirit never left in this 60-minute ghostly tour of the resort. Includes an exclusive visit to Kate’s room and close examination
of the clues she left behind.

Self-Guided Audio Tours
Daily | 10am – 5pm
The Del’s new self-guided tours offer a fun experience based on letters, records and oral histories from previous guests and staff. Hear about their experiences, and the resort’s history, through audio reenactments as you explore the property.

Private Group Tours
Private Legendary Tours and Haunted Happenings Tours are available for groups of 20-100 people. Reservations must be made in advance by contacting Gina Petrone, Heritage Manager.
