Can I visit the restaurants, spa, shops, or beach if I am not staying overnight?
Yes. We welcome locals and day visitors to enjoy The Del and our many onsite activities and dining venues. The following areas are reserved for overnight guests only: Fitness Center, pool, guest room areas. We also prioritize overnight guests at our dining outlets.
What are the dining options on property?
Sheerwater (casual dining open for breakfast, lunch and dinner), Serẽa (upscale sea-to-table dining experience open for dinner beginning June 2019), ENO (artisan pizzeria open for dinner), Sun Deck (casual beachfront eatery open for drinks, lunch & summer dinner), Crown Room Brunch (our famous Sunday brunch), Beach + Taco Shack (casual beachfront bar and taco shack), Babcock & Story Bar (drinks and light fare), Babcock & Story Bakery (grab ‘n’ go bakery open 24 hours), Splash Bar (poolside bar and light pool fare), Sundae’s (ice cream style gelato). Reservations are available for Sheerwater, ENO and Sunday Brunch.
What are the top family activities at the resort?
1) The beach! Coronado Beach was named the world’s best by Dr. Beach, with sparkling gold sand and gentle waves. Hang out on a day bed or luxury lounge chair with food and beverage service at Del Beach. 2) Roast s’mores at sunset. 3) Explore Coronado Island by bike. 4) Surfing or paddleboarding lessons. 5) Rent a kayak, jetski, sailing or fishing adventure just across the street at Glorietta Marina. 6) Snuggle up under the stars for a Movie on the Beach. 7) Send your kids ages 5-12 on a DelVenture with 1-hour daytime activities or 3-hour evening camps. 8) Spa at The Del welcomes teens ages 14 and up for pampering treatments.
How many pools are at the resort? Are they heated?
We have one main pool and jacuzzi plus the spa terrace pool for guests of the spa. For guests staying at Beach Village, there three additional pools (one large and two small plunge pools) plus three jacuzzis. Our pools are kept at a relaxing 82 degrees year round.
What are the check in and check out times?
Check in begins at 4pm. Check out by 11am. You are welcome to store your luggage with the Bell Desk so you can enjoy the resort to the fullest.
Are pets allowed?
Yes. The Del welcomes pets weighing 40 lbs or less with a maximum of 2 per guest room. To ensure the comfort of all of our guests, there is a non-refundable pet charge of $125 to cover deep cleaning costs completed after every pet departure ($200 per stay for Beach Village accommodations). Pets are to be leashed or in a carrier when in public areas and are not permitted inside pool areas, fitness center, spa, salon or dining areas except the Sun Deck.
How much is the resort charge daily and what does it include?
A $35 daily resort charge will be added to your room rate and includes: Guest internet access; unlimited indoor fitness classes & beach yoga; live streaming of Netflix, Pandora, Hulu, YouTube & Crackle; discount tickets to top San Diego attractions; local and toll-free calls. Is there shuttle service to and from the airport?
No, however Hotel del Coronado has teamed up with Uber to provide safe and easy transport to your destination. To get your first Uber ride free (up to $20), sign up at get.uber.com/go/hoteldel, or download the app and enter the promo code hoteldel.
To arrange for private car service, contact LaCosta Limousine at 1-888-299-5466. Taxis are also readily available and can be called from the valet entrance. You can also take the Coronado Ferry across San Diego Bay to downtown San Diego; the Ferry Landing is 1.5 miles from The Del. How much is parking?
Resort parking is valet only. Overnight Guest Valet Parking: $50 per vehicle per night. Day Visitor Valet Parking: $20 per hour (maximum $80/day); discounted to $20 for the first 3 hours with $50 retail or food/beverage purchase; discounted to $10 for the first 3 hours with Spa or 1500 OCEAN validation; each additional hour $20. Daily Maximum and Lost Ticket Fee: $80
Is smoking allowed in the rooms, balcony, or on property?
All of our guestrooms, including balconies and patios, are non-smoking. Guests may smoke in designated smoking areas where ash trays are located throughout the resort grounds, but it is not permitted in any other areas including the pool, restaurant patios, or indoor areas. Outside of resort grounds, the City of Coronado prohibits smoking on public property including the beaches.
What renovation work is in progress and will it impact my stay?
This is an exciting and historic time at The Del. We are significantly enhancing the resort to ensure it lives on for generations. We are making every effort to ensure that it won’t disturb your stay and make your next one incredible. During this process, we will be introducing some limited-time pop-up programming (details to be announced).
