What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in begins at 4pm. Check out is by 11am. You are welcome to store your luggage with us so you can enjoy the resort to the fullest.

How much is parking?

Self-parking is available on the north side of the resort in our secure underground parking garage. Valet parking is available at the main entrance. Click here for parking rates.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that your plans may change. Over most dates, Hotel del Coronado has a 72-hour cancellation policy, during peak dates this policy may be extended to a 7-day cancellation period. Beach Village at The Del has a 7-day cancellation policy that may be extended during peak dates.

A one-night deposit is required at the time of booking. Cancellations made after the stated time period result in full forfeiture of the deposit. Should you need to change or cancel your reservation, please have your confirmation number or credit card available when you call 1.800.468.3533 or modify your reservation online.

What renovation work is in progress and will it impact my stay?

This is an exciting time at The Del as we work to preserve and enhance our seaside resort for the enjoyment of future generations. The majority of our renovations are now complete and open for guests to enjoy including the new Shore House at The Del, fully restored Cottages and Villas at Beach Village at The Del, accommodations in The Cabanas and The Views, restored lobby and entrance, renovated main pool, retail shops, dining outlets, and hotel grounds. The Ocean Concierge Club at the beautifully renovated Windsor Cottage is a premier new offering unlocking some of the most unforgettable experiences and amenities of The Del. The final phase has begun with the restoration of The Victorian building which will be completed in Spring 2025.  

The resort remains open with accommodations being offered in four beachfront neighborhoods, along with the memorable experiences you know and love.

How much is the resort charge daily and what does it include?

A total $50 daily mandatory charge is added to the room rate and includes:

  • A $35 Resort Charge that includes: Guest WiFi access; complimentary beach yoga (based on availability) and fitness center access, live streaming of Netflix, Pandora, Hulu and YouTube (must use your own account); and local and toll-free calls. Beach Village guests also enjoy complimentary use of sand chairs and umbrellas at Del Beach.
  • A $15 Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) charge to help support the ongoing preservation of this 1888 National Historic Landmark and protect its legacy for generations to come. Learn more.

Are pets allowed?

Yes. The Del welcomes pets weighing 40 lbs or less with a maximum of 2 per guest room. To ensure the comfort of all of our guests, there is a non-refundable pet charge of $125 to cover deep cleaning costs after every pet departure ($200 per stay for Beach Village accommodations). Pets are to be leashed or in a carrier when in public areas and are not permitted inside pool areas, fitness center, spa, salon or dining areas except Sun Deck and Beach + Taco Shack. How many pools are at the resort? Are they heated?

Hotel del Coronado’s Cabana Pool is open and features poolside food and beverage service and private cabanas. Guests staying at Beach Village have exclusive access to the Oval Pool plus additional plunge pools and hot tubs. Guests staying at the new Shore House at The Del have exclusive access to a new oceanfront pool and Jacuzzi. Our pools are heated year-round to around 80-85 degrees.

What are the dining options at the resort?

Serẽa (upscale sea-to-table dining experience), Sun Deck (casual rooftop bar and grill experience with the best sunset viewing), Babcock & Story Bar (drinks and light fare), Beach + Taco Shack (casual beachfront bar and taco shack), ENO Market & Pizzeria (Italian-style marketplace with grab-and-go offerings and pizzeria), and Sundaes (ice cream style gelato and craft paletas) and The Laundry Pub (classic pub fare, local microbrews, pool tables and nostalgic arcade games). Brunch is available during select holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Day, Easter, Mother's Day). In-room dining is currently unavailable.

Can I visit the restaurants, spa, shops, or beach if I am not staying overnight?

Yes. We welcome San Diego locals and day visitors to enjoy The Del and our many onsite activities and dining venues. The following areas are reserved for overnight guests only: Cabana Pool, Fitness Center, and guest room areas. What are the top family activities at the resort?

At The Del, every great experience begins with beach. Relax in a plush day bed or luxurious lounge chair at Del Beach, Roast s’mores at sunset, take surfing lessons, or rent a kayak, jetski, sailing or fishing adventure just across the street at Glorietta Marina. Are history tours available?

Yes, history tours are available daily at the Ice House Museum. Choose from our daily, docent-lead Legendary Tours, a fun self-guided audio tour with historic reenactments, or a thrilling Haunted Happenings Tour where you learn the infamous story of Kate Morgan. How can I arrange transportation?

To arrange for a private car service for arrivals, departures, or on-demand with a chauffeur, please contact our Hotel Transportation team at 1-619-435-6611. Taxis and rideshare services are also readily available and can be called from the main entrance or rideshare app. You can also take the Coronado Ferry across San Diego Bay to downtown San Diego; the Ferry Landing is 1.5 miles from The Del.

Can I reserve connecting rooms?

We would be happy to immediately book and confirm connected rooms with our Guaranteed Connecting Rooms experience.

Is smoking allowed in the rooms, balcony, or on the grounds?

All of our guestrooms, including balconies and patios, are non-smoking. Guests may smoke in designated smoking areas where ashtrays are located throughout the resort grounds, but it is not permitted in any other areas including the pool, restaurant patios, or indoor areas. Outside of resort grounds, the City of Coronado prohibits smoking on public property including the beaches.

What are the current ocean conditions?

You can find the current tide schedule, surf conditions, and water temperature here and the current water quality here. For safety and other beach information, the City of Coronado beach lifeguards will be your best resource.

Due to the large number of requests received and in order to protect the integrity of our guest experience, professional photography and filming is strictly limited at the resort.
