Can I visit the restaurants, spa, shops, or beach if I am not staying overnight?
Yes. We welcome locals and day visitors to enjoy The Del and our many onsite activities and dining venues. The following areas are reserved for overnight guests only: Fitness Center and guest room areas. We also prioritize overnight guests at our dining outlets.
What are the dining options at the resort?
Sheerwater (casual dining open for breakfast, lunch and dinner), Serẽa (upscale sea-to-table dining experience open for dinner), ENO (artisan pizzeria open for dinner), On the Rocks (casual beachfront eatery open for drinks and daytime dining), Crown Room Brunch (our famous Sunday brunch), Beach + Taco Shack (casual beachfront bar and taco shack), Babcock & Story Bar (drinks and light fare), Babcock & Story Bakery (grab ‘n’ go bakery open 24 hours), Splash Bar (poolside bar and light pool fare), Sundae’s (ice cream style gelato). Reservations are available for Sheerwater, ENO and Sunday Brunch.
What are the top family activities at the resort?
1) The beach! Coronado Beach was named the world’s best by Dr. Beach, with sparkling gold sand and gentle waves. Hang out on a day bed or luxury lounge chair with food and beverage service at Del Beach. 2) Roast s’mores at sunset. 3) Surfing or paddleboarding lessons. 4) Rent a kayak, jetski, sailing or fishing adventure just across the street at Glorietta Marina. 5) Snuggle up under the stars for a Movie on the Beach. 6) Spa at The Del welcomes teens ages 14 and up for pampering treatments.
How many pools are at the resort? Are they heated?
We have one pool and jacuzzi available for guest use plus the spa terrace pool for guests of the spa. For guests staying at Beach Village, there are two additional pools plus three jacuzzis. Our pools are kept at a relaxing 82 degrees year-round.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in begins at 4pm. Check out by 11am. You are welcome to store your luggage with the Bell Desk so you can enjoy the resort to the fullest.
Are pets allowed?
Yes. The Del welcomes pets weighing 40 lbs or less with a maximum of 2 per guest room. To ensure the comfort of all of our guests, there is a non-refundable pet charge of $125 to cover deep cleaning costs completed after every pet departure ($200 per stay for Beach Village accommodations). Pets are to be leashed or in a carrier when in public areas and are not permitted inside pool areas, fitness center, spa, salon or dining areas except On the Rocks.
How much is the resort charge daily and what does it include?
A $35 daily resort charge will be added to your room rate and includes: Guest internet access; unlimited indoor fitness classes & beach yoga; live streaming of Netflix, Pandora, Hulu, YouTube & Crackle; discount tickets to top San Diego attractions; local and toll-free calls. Can I reserve connecting rooms?
We would be happy to note the request for connecting or adjoining rooms in your reservation, but we are unable to guarantee.
Is there a shuttle service to and from the airport?
No. Hotel del Coronado has teamed up with Uber to provide safe and easy transport to your destination. To get your first Uber ride free (up to $20), sign up at get.uber.com/go/hoteldel, or download the app and enter the promo code hoteldel.
To arrange for private car service, contact LaCosta Limousine at 1-888-299-5466. Taxis are also readily available and can be called from the valet entrance. You can also take the Coronado Ferry across San Diego Bay to downtown San Diego; the Ferry Landing is 1.5 miles from The Del. How much is parking?
Resort parking is currently valet only. Overnight Guest Valet Parking: $50 per vehicle per night. Day Visitor Valet Parking: $30 for the first 2 hours; $10 each additional hour. Get a $10 discount for dining at the resort. Parking is complimentary for spa guests. Daily maximum is $80.
Is smoking allowed in the rooms, balcony, or on the grounds?
All of our guestrooms, including balconies and patios, are non-smoking. Guests may smoke in designated smoking areas where ashtrays are located throughout the resort grounds, but it is not permitted in any other areas including the pool, restaurant patios, or indoor areas. Outside of resort grounds, the City of Coronado prohibits smoking on public property including the beaches.
Are history tours available?
Yes! Guests can Experience the Legend through The Del’s daily docent-led history tours, bringing life to the resort’s rich heritage, local legends, and most notorious ghost Kate Morgan. Nighttime ghost tours are also available on select dates.
Can I have a photo shoot at The Del?
Professional photography at Hotel del Coronado and its surrounding beach and outdoor areas for special occasions like engagements, weddings, and family reunions are reserved for guests of the hotel. What renovation work is in progress and will it impact my stay?
This is an exciting and historic time at The Del. We are significantly enhancing the resort to ensure it lives on for generations. We are making every effort to ensure that it won’t disturb your stay and make your next one incredible. During this process, we will be introducing some limited-time pop-up programming like the the new On the Rocks beachfront food truck and other fun activities.
