The Iconic Resort’s Spa & Salon Unveils With New Look and Expansive Space

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — (Oct. 12, 2020) — The legendary Hotel del Coronado has reached another milestone in its $400 million Master Plan reimagination with the completion of its new Spa & Salon at The Del.

“We are thrilled to announce the completion of our Spa & Salon for our guests and local residents to enjoy,” said Spa & Salon Director Michelle Frye. “We thoughtfully curated its transformation and are always discovering ways to create spaces that will enhance our guest experience and inspire them to keep visiting us.”

Hotel del Coronado has partnered with Miami-based architecture firm Gonzalez Architects on the spa transformation. The focus was to make sure The Del’s distinct architectural style and charm was preserved, while still highlighting the idyllic San Diego climate and offering the resort’s distinct sense of place, with colors of gray, pink and green. Gonzalez Architects focused on evoking a feeling of modern relaxation while keeping the historic value of The Del, including a Marilyn Monroe-inspired theme with the filming of the iconic “Some Like It Hot” at the property.

Notable additions to the new Spa & Salon enhancement include:

• A dedicated salon offering finishing touches with shampoo and blowout options and an exclusive partnership with Eufora, as well as make-up application and nail services
• New tranquil, relaxation lounges
• Pool deck terrace overlooking the Pacific
• Expanded men’s and women’s locker rooms with marble steam rooms and jacuzzis

Guests and local residents are both able to enjoy the Spa & Salon’s new facilities, ocean-inspired spa treatments, and full-service salon.
