1915 — President William Taft

President William Taft had a sister living in Coronado, who he visited in April 1900. After his presidency, Taft stayed at The Del to attend the 1915 Panama-California Exposition. Upon his visit, he called it “the first real vacation I have had for years.” A California magazine offered more details, saying that Taft “rested on his laurels after 10 days of strenuous golf played on the links of the Coronado Country Club.”
